Slumber Party!

Wyatt and I are having a slumber party tonight! Todd is on a scouting trip so Wyatt gets to be my faithful protector in his place! It's so much fun having him back! He is such a cuddly sweetheart and he adores Todd! He follows him around and gets so excited when he comes home. The two are good buddies. Wyatt is currently learning how to "roll over" he doesn't quite get it and he gets really impatient, but every now and then he succeeds! Good boy!


This was our field trip to Memorial Grove Park by the capitol. We've taken him there a couple times and it's his favorite! He runs and jumps right in the water! He's definitely a retriever! He brings back everything - branches, other dog's balls, garbage, small children... jk - but he does love helping the other dogs fetch their sticks! I tried to get a picture of the two of them paddling their way in with a big stick, but I missed it. I don't think the other dog owners like us much!

Last time we couldn't get him to come out, he was having so much fun - but it wore him out! He was so tired, by the time we were leaving, he didn't have the strength to jump out. So after several failed attempts on his own, I had to grab his collar and help him out. Poor thing! He's definitely feeling his age I think!

We are whipping him into good shape though! We run every morning together and walk, run or rollerblade in the evenings! It's a blast!

WYATT!!!

I got a new puppy! Okay, he's NOT a puppy, but he sure is a cute little stinker! This is my baby, Wyatt! I first got him about 6 1/2 yrs ago, but when I moved, I couldn't keep him because I didn't have a place for him. Now he gets to come back and live with me and I'm so excited! It took Todd some convincing, but he's totally warmed up to him! Wyatt is SO well behaved! He is such a sweetheart and we are having so much fun! We are just getting ready to go on a hike with my Young Women (I'm sure he will love that!) All that girlie attention! Here are some pics! Isn't he soooo cute??? I'm his mommy and he knows it! He follows me around EVERYWHERE! If I get up, he has to get up too. So the other night I said "go lay down" and he turned right around and went to his pillow. He is SO obedient! We go on walks every morning and every afternoon, we chase the lazer around the back yard before bed time, we are having a ball! Speaking of Balls, he loves this ball of string! When he wants to play, he'll pick it up and put it in my lap and then he'll grab it really fast before I can get to it. And then he settles down and tries to eat it (at least he's getting a good flossing!) ha ha! And I love his little gray beard. Technically, he is a senior citizen (well almost)

The new Refrigerator, stove & dishwasher were my Mother's Day gifts! Todd always gets me gifts even though I 'm not technically a mother yet. I only got to enjoy pregnancy for five weeks, but I still felt that connection a mother would have. So, goll darn it - I celebrated it! :)

This is where the window is now overlooking the living room (from the LR side). We have a bar extending out to the living room, but I don't have a good picture of it yet - so I'll post that later. Totally opened up and brightened up our house!!!



This is the back bedroom, i won't tell you how many layers of wall paper we had to chip off under this paint - is was HORRIBLE!!! But it looks excellent now!

We are still putting up crown moulding and doing the last minute touches before I can decorate -so I'll post more later! Yeah! I'm so glad we are almost done (with the upstairs at least)!

The Rock Garden & California!!!

I made a little rock retaining wall where the ugly bush used to be. It turned out great! I can't wait for it to stop SNOWING in random spurts so I can plant something beautiful there!

Paris came to visit me when I was in California a couple weekends ago. I was judging a National Cheerleading Competition and she just moved about 30 minutes from there - so we went to Downtown Disney and played. It was great to see her & we had a blast! Unfortunately, I had to work crazy hours for the rest of the weekend, so this was all we had time to do! Miss you girlie!

It's been a while

I have been super busy doing a whole lot of nothing... at least it feels that way! Todd just finished school - yeah!!! So we are now deciding what to do for a career. He's not sure if he wants to teach so we are looking into other things. I am just excited that I don't have to be the only one working anymore!

As for me, I'm still enjoying working on our house! It's spring now, so I've gone back outside to work on the landscaping. I really wish I could just be a housewife. I would love to work out in my garden all day, plant things, create things, and just keep up on the day to day chores. It would be so nice! Well, maybe not the chores part. Thank goodness I have a husband who doesn't mind helping out in that department! Todd - hurry up and make your millions!

Michelle, Cam & the fam are coming up to visit us in June - so we are hurrying to get our upstairs complete by then. We really are so close. We just have to finish the countertops around the sink, hook UP the sink (yes, I have been washing dishes in my bathtub), paint everything, add trim around the windows, crown moulding, refinish the floors & DECORATE!!! Ok, so it still sounds like a lot of work - but we have crossed mountains to get to where we are - so I am excited about the progress! I can't wait until it's done! The downstairs will be a breeze!

I'll post some new pics when it looks like we have actually done something...

The "Green Room" & the Kitchen

One more room is almost done! I wish I could say that for the kitchen, but it is looking great too! We are tiling the countertops with granite...it looks great! I can't wait to see the finished result!
